Vancouver Rugby Sevens
The Brief
In collaborating with MRG Events for the Vancouver Rugby Sevens tournament, our objective was to design two activations that would elevate the event experience. We intended to blend creativity with the dynamic spirit of rugby, offering attendees interactive and memorable moments of engagement. We aimed to not just captivate the audience but also to foster a stronger sense of community and excitement, ensuring our efforts added to the impact on the event's atmosphere.
Considerations…
Rugby is a game of skill so our games should mirror that we consciously avoided creating a game of chance
Rugby brings people together and so should our activations
Both activations should be easy to set up, take down and transport
The Result
The result was two activations with two very different interactions.
Process
We begin by drafting our concepts and designs in 3D, ensuring that everyone involved can visualize exactly what is being proposed, thereby instilling confidence in the final build. This step also generates our working files for fabrication, utilizing advanced machinery such as CNC and laser cutting. This integration of technology enables us to expand the boundaries of creativity and fabrication possibilities. While there is still value in traditional building techniques, combining them with our innovative approach allows us to surpass our clients' expectations significantly.
